About the event

Mitigation is essential, but unfortunately no longer sufficient: adaptation to climate change is essential. Ultimately, the two are intertwined and require us to understand the evolution of our consciousness in order to make the necessary choices to accelerate climate solutions while avoiding maladaptation.

Join us for an evening to explore the implications of adaptation and choose one of the 2 proposed educational workshops to be better equipped to make the right choices for adaptation:

The Adaptation workshop

The Adaptation to Climate Change Workshop is based on the IPCC Working Group 2 findings on risks and impacts of Climate Change. This workshop gives a methodology aiming at making the right choices regarding the integration of Climate Risks to the operations within the framework of a case study.

Thus, the workshop equips you to take future-proof decisions and reduce climate change-induced risks in order to get ready for the unavoidable impacts to come.

The Adaptation to Climate Change Workshop relies on collective intelligence: participants work together to identify adaptation options, assess them and make decisions combining impact and compromise.

The workshop flow will be:

- Introduction & Key concepts of Adaptation

- Climate Risk methodology

- Case studies about Singapore (discover what Sea level rise in Tuas, River Flooding in JB or heatwaves in Queenstown could mean and how to adapt to protect our businesses).

The Fresk of Conscious Evolution

The Conscious Evolution Fresk is a collaborative and creative game designed to help you understand and address the complex sustainability challenges of the 21st century. Through this workshop based on New World Together transdisciplinary research findings, you will access breakthrough knowledge and innovative ways of thinking, that can empower and enlighten you.

During the game, you will work as a team with different sets of cards containing key information about the global sustainability challenges, their hidden root causes, and their solutions. Your mission is to use your individual and collective intelligence to connect the dots and organize the cards to have a clear picture that allows you to:

  • Adopt a systemic approach: Break the silos to grasp the interrelated challenges of sustainability as a whole together with their fundamental causes.
  • Deepen your understanding: Recognize unsustainable behavior patterns, their past origins, their root causes, and how they are perpetuated below our level of awareness.
  • Find a pathway: Discover what we need to nurture and change in order to find a pathway toward the “better world our hearts know is possible”.
