About the event
In the world of finance, climate change is known as a phenomenon called the "Tragedy of the Horizon" because it extends beyond a typical business planning cycle. So what does it mean for businesses and what needs to be done to address it? If we take action now, we can reduce the catastrophic impacts of climate change by gradually transitioning to a low-carbon economy. However, if we wait, we risk facing the consequences of more frequent and intense extreme weather events coupled with the need for a rapid transition of an enormous scale.
Learning objectives:
- Understand the implications of climate-related issues on businesses
- Understand why boards need to address climate-related risks now
- Be able to identify climate risks relevant for your organisation
